I remember one time when Jack and I, Sharon, Tim, Nancy, Ruth, Patty and Greg took a trip to Florida in 1971. Sharon was in her first year of college and Greg was in kindergarten. We stopped to see Uncle lammert and Aunt Dena there. They were so cordial and begged us to stay with them at their movile home. We told them we had too big a bunch to stay but would be back later, after we found a hotel room. We left, and looked all over and there wasn't any place available to stay so we decided to take them up on their offer. We went back and they seemed so happy that we did. We enjoyed visiting with them and had a wonderful hymn sing with Lammert at the organ. Our boys slept in the station wagon and the rest of us sprawled all around the floor. In the morning we all went out for breakfast together. Being with them was the highlight of our whole trip.
My mom has many tapes of Uncle Lammert playing the piano and organ, which we all enjoy. What beautiful music! We have the book with many songs he wrote. Sharon has sung some of them in church and some have been used in church as preludes!
